Everyone has a story. This is how our story begins.
We currently reside in a small, rural Florida town. This town will always remain special because this is where it all started for us. There is a lot to be said but I will try to make it short.
It Started Way Back in… Kindergarten!
My husband was my elementary school crush! Crazy right!? Not too many people can say they have known their husband the majority of their life, but it is pretty neat to have shared experiences to look back on. My elementary relationship goals did not come to fruition until our freshman year of college. We dated for a few years, got engaged, I started teaching kindergarten, and then we married as I entered graduate school at the University of Florida (Go Gators!).
We married on October 5, 2013.
One month in to married life, a full-time elementary teaching career, and graduate studies, I surprised Daniel with “You’re going to be a daddy!” on his 23rd birthday.
We then took a break, during Thanksgiving Break, to go on our honeymoon to Ireland! Such a great experience! We can’t wait to go back.
Once we arrived home, we were excited to truly begin our next adventure of becoming parents! Turns out, life had other plans. I thought our first prenatal appointment would leave us giddy with excitement, yet it left us with tears and fears. The ultrasound determined that our baby no longer had a heartbeat. Hopes and dreams were shattered. Several weeks after that appointment we miscarried our first baby.
After experiencing our pregnancy loss, I became aware of how common pregnancy loss is and realized how bad we were lacking in quality resources. I decided to help make a change. God truly tugged at my heart in so many different ways until I knew this was the ministry he had in store for me. So in 2017, I founded Our Hearts Align, a nonprofit dedicated to serving families who experience pregnancy loss. We strive to meet their individual needs during that difficult time and be a little source of comfort to assist along the way.
Now, we need to rewind just a bit because in October 2016 I gave birth to another beautiful baby girl! She brings a smile to our faces each day. She loves music, learning, and enjoys helping her mommy.
Now fast forward to June 2018, our little princess was promoted to big sister! We welcomed another healthy baby girl into this world. She is also incredibly sweet, loves her big sister, and brings so much joy to our lives.
I work hard to bring God, Love, and Learning into our home each day.
Life has changed quickly for those two elementary sweet hearts and we wouldn’t change it for anything! Our girls bring such joy to our lives and we are incredibly thankful for the time we get to spend together. We love going on new adventures, reading books, laughing, and learning new things. We try to live the way we should. We aren’t perfect but we strive to be the best we can. Just like everyone else, we have ups and downs, but we know we have each other to get us through.
