Character First Education

Dream with me for just a moment. What if we shifted our approach from an academic-first education to a character-first education? Not to disregard the importance of academics at all! What if we didn’t worry about how a child performs on a test? What if we didn’t care as much if they had the highest …

Living & Learning–Homeschool Field Trip Journal!

“Live together, learn together because living is learning.” –Kara Mangum Even though I studied education in college, it doesn’t take a degree to understand that children (and adults!) learn best using real-world, hands-on experiences. So why such the disconnect in the world of traditional education? I don’t have all of the answers but what I …

L’Bri Pure N’ Natural Product Review

I have been on a difficult journey for many years. This journey started about 7 years ago. After the loss of my first baby (due to miscarriage), I did a ton of research to make sure I was healthy enough to conceive, and carry, another baby. During my time of research, I learned how harmful …

How To Teach Children About Giving

No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted. ~Aesop~ Teaching our children the importance of giving to others is something that is always on my heart. I fully understand that teaching this concept to children isn’t something that can be taught in one lesson or even a week’s worth of lessons. Instead, it is …

  • New baby update!

Ava insisted on being the one to reveal our new baby’s gender to us. So we allowed her to come up with her own idea and let her plan it out. She had a blast! She filled a balloon with confetti and we let Celia pop the balloon for us. Of course, it was PINK! Celia is super excited because she said she only wants sisters. McKenna was just excited to throw confetti everywhere 😆 #girlfamily #daddyiswayoutnumberednow

  • Reminded of this as I continue to work toward a more minimal home. The things we own are all good. They served a purpose at one point in our life but now it’s just too much. Im not using everything during this season of life and I may or may not use it in the future. Now, it’s got to go so we can create new memories as a family. I will never be a minimalist but working toward a clutter-free home where things are purposeful and meaningful is the overall goal.
