Our First AirBnB Experience at the Skittles Shack | St. Augustine, FL

Whimsical, artistic, cheerful, and inviting is exactly how I would describe the home where my family had our very first AirBnb experience. As soon as we walked in the front door I knew we were going to have a great weekend! How could you not in a place called the Skittles Shack?

When our family travels, we mostly stay in hotels or with family and friends. I’ve heard mixed reviews about staying in AirBnb locations previously and thought it just wasn’t for us. However, a friend of mine recently shared an AirBnb listing, on Facebook, from St. Augustine, FL. The featured home looked incredibly fun and was conveniently located. It looked newly updated and clean; which cleanliness is personally extremely important. The decor was cute and a Skittles theme certainly intrigued me. So with my daughter’s 2nd birthday on the horizon, I thought this might be the perfect opportunity to take a quick mini-vacation and try a stay somewhere new.

I’m so glad we did!

The Skittles Shack did not disappoint, in fact, it exceeded my expectations. We felt at home in this house and had everything we needed. We were right down the road from all of the attractions on our list. Some were even within walking distance! Two miles from downtown and three miles from the beach, it was great!

The Skittles Shack will always have a special place in my heart. So, we created a quick video to share with others. I mean, showing you is always better than just telling you. At least it is for me since I am a visual type of person. Plus, I am thankful we did this video because it will help us remember our experience in the future.

Learning with Skittles

Of course, the Skittles Shack shared tasty Skittles with us! They left sweets all around the house. Did you know candy can be a great tool to use to teach children? Who isn’t motivated by candy!? HAHA
