Educating Our Little Ones

Passionate about Education

When I started college, I didn’t originally set out to be an educator. Psychology was actually my desired profession as I exited high school. However, as I started my journey at the University of Florida, my heart longed to attend the College of Education and to become a teacher.

Proud EduGator!

I am so thankful I made that decision! Obviously, I am a little bias but I truly believe the College of Education at the University of Florida is the best ever! Their teacher education program truly prepares you to teach and encourages you to make a difference in the lives of our youth. Plus, I got to create memories with some amazing ladies who are now some of my best friends!

During my time at UF, I finished with a Master of Education degree and immediately started teaching in our local public schools. I taught kindergarten at a wonderful school with teachers who truly cared about their students. I learned tons during my time in the public school system.

I have always had a passion for teaching and deep within my heart I always knew I would be a teacher. However, the desire to be a mom and to educate my own children was, and is, the most important thing to me. So after three years of teaching kindergarten, I decided to leave my school to stay home with my daughter.

Since then, I have tutored some and even taught at a local preschool. But truthfully, I receive the most joy when I get to learn with my family. I love to create fun educational activities for my little ones and go on new adventures with my family. My hope is to foster a love for learning in their hearts and mind so they will become lifelong learners. I strive to show them that we are learning every day and that the world has so much to teach us. God created this beautiful world for us to enjoy, to pursue our passions, and to fulfill the purpose he has for us. I want our girls to grow in their faith and learn educational concepts at the same time. I want them to see how everything is connected and goes hand in hand because God is involved in everything we do. I want them to understand that learning isn’t reserved just for “school” but is something that we are involved in each day.

I am also passionate about encouraging parents to be active in their child’s education. Parents are a child’s first teacher. They are the most influential person in their child’s life. By sharing activities and posting photos of the different ways we learn in our every day, I hope to encourage parents to be intentional about educating their little ones. I hope they become empowered to seek out the interests of their children and to create an environment that allows their child to flourish.
